about

Hi, I’m kali.

(they/she)

I am non-binary fem, neurodivergent, and passionately introverted. I consider myself a sensitive-weirdo in the best of ways and find I gravitate to those who resonate with that characteristic. I approach this work as a human first and therapist second, celebrating our messiness and fallibility as well as our capacity for profound joy and connection. We are not given a map for how to live well and it is a deeply courageous act to journey in making your own.

Therapy is a co-created space of safety in which there is no agenda except for your own. You are free to create and to destruct, to feel and to think, in order to create a life that is rich with what is meaningful to you.

My approach

My work is dedicated to remaining holistic and centered around the desires, goals, and comfort of each client. I want to help you navigate your world, offering clarity and understanding as you explore what truly matters to you. Together, we'll uncover core values and identify meaningful steps to move forward. My goal is to provide interventions and strategies that align with who you are and what resonates most with your unique perspective. Whether it’s learning how to cope with overwhelming feelings, rethinking the stories you've been told about who you "should" be, or finding ways to reconnect with a deeper sense of purpose, my role is to offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients have the opportunity to explore new ways of being.

Theoretical Orientation

My approach is eclectic at heart but has it’s roots in Existential Phenomenology and Liberatory psychology. Existential Phenomenology, honors the singularity and uniqueness of each person’s lived experiences and intersecting identities while emphasizing the importance of authenticity and meaningful living. In turn, Liberatory psychology recognizes that we are fundamentally enmeshed, relationally bound, and inescapably situated within specific environmental, cultural, and sociopolitical contexts. Liberatory psychology seeks to understand how the self and the world mutually inform one another and testify to the ways in which our identities, experiences, and most importantly suffering is shaped by the systems in which we live.

Therapeutic tenets

I approach counseling through a social justice and anti-oppressive lens. I am sex-positive, and deeply supportive of sex-workers, kinky-, poly-, queer-, ace-, trans-, and other marginalized people. I practice from a body-neutral perspective and align with Health At Every Size (HAES) principles. Therapy has the great honor and responsibility of holding the full complexity of each person’s identity and lived experience, while acknowledging how systems of power shape our realities. I believe it is essential to recognize the impact of systemic forces—such as racism, colorism, sexism, cis-sexism, homophobia, ableism, and classism—on well-being, and to integrate this understanding into the healing process.
