  • Ballard Food Bank

    Ballard Food Bank works the same as a grocery store:  browse the shelves and choose items you need, such as meat and vegetables, hygiene items, and pet food. They also continue to offer no-cook bags and groceries. For individuals who are home-bound, Ballard Food Bank will deliver bags of groceries including nutritious fruits, vegetables, proteins, dairy, and other non-perishable items that are available at the Food Bank. Other services include the Kindness Cafe (free ready made cafe meals), Mail Collection, Weekend Food for Kids, and Resource Hub.

    211 is a comprehensive source of information about local resources and services related to crisis, housing, food, health, pet needs, among other support services. They are reachable over the phone and through their website 211.org

  • Seattle King County Crisis Line 

    The Seattle King Country Crisis line is a 24 hour volunteer staffed crisis line that offers immediate emotional support for those in crisis. Anonymously seek support for topics such as anxiety or loneliness, family or relationship difficulties, symptoms of mental illness, loss of a job, health concerns, abuse, alcohol or drug abuse, and thoughts of suicide. Related services can be viewed on their website such as the Warm-Line and Teen Link.

    *If you are outside of King County, please notify the phone worker at the beginning of the call and they will provide you with the appropriate number for your local crisis line.

    Trans Lifeline

    Trans Lifeline’s Hotline is a peer support phone service run by trans people for our trans and questioning peers. Trans Lifeline’s hotline operating hours are Monday through Friday:

    • 10 AM – 6 PM Pacific

    • 11 AM – 7 PM Mountain

    • 12 PM – 8 PM Central

    • 1 PM – 9 PM Eastern

    The Trevor Project

    The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) young people ages 13-24. Connect with a trained counselor 24/7, 365 days a year, from anywhere in the U.S via text, chat, or phone. The Trevor Project is 100% confidential and 100% free.

    National Domestic Violence Hotline

    The National Domestic Violence Hotline offers confidential support to individuals experiencing domestic violence, providing crisis intervention, safety planning, and resources for getting help, including a Domestic Violence Provider Search. They are available 24/7 via phone, text, and online chat.

    National Sexual Assault Hotline

    RAINN (Rape Abuse and Incest National Network) is committed to supporting survivors of sexual violence, cultivating communities of anti-sexual violence activism, and promoting policies that deliver justice and hold perpetrators accountable. RAINN offers the National Sexual Assault Hotline a Confidential hotline where you can receive free support 24/7.

    Washington Recovery Help Line

    The Washington Recovery Help Line is an anonymous and confidential help line that provides crisis intervention and referral services for Washington State residents. Professionally trained volunteers and staff are available to provide emotional support 24 hours a day, and offer local treatment resources for substance abuse, problem gambling and mental health as well as to other community services.

    People can call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org for themselves or if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support. 988 serves as a universal entry point so that no matter where you live in the United States, you can reach a trained crisis call specialists who can help. Calls to the Lifeline are routed based on the caller's area code to the nearest crisis center for connections to local resources for help.

  • Low-Fee Therapy Library

    A Seattle University curated list of agencies in Washington and the Seattle area that offer lower cost therapy services. Please note availability at agencies is constantly changing, so you may wish to contact more than one clinic.

    Open Path Psychotherapy Collective

    Open Path Psychotherapy Collective is an online database of local clinicians dedicated to offering affordable and low-fee therapy. Services range from $40-70 a session ($30 student intern sessions.)

    The Psychotherapy Cooperative

    The Psychotherapy Cooperative is a small non-profit therapy organization created in 1996 by the teaching faculty and graduates from the Masters in Psychology program at Seattle University. The therapists of the Psychotherapy Cooperative work individually with adults who experience depression or discouragement, problems with self-esteem or anxiety, difficulty with life transitions and other issues influencing the quality of life. The Psychotherapy Cooperative is committed to providing affordable therapy services and operates on a pay-what-you-can model.
